Rotate Image
Phone photos and scans often arrive sideways because the orientation is stored as metadata that some apps ignore. Rotating rewrites the actual pixels, so the image looks right everywhere.

How to rotate image
- Upload the image you want to turn.
- Choose 90 degrees clockwise, 180 degrees, or 270 degrees.
- Download the corrected image.
Why rotation is lossless here
Turning an image by a multiple of 90 degrees only moves whole pixels around - no pixel needs to be invented or blended, so nothing is softened.
Rotating by an arbitrary angle, such as 7 degrees to straighten a horizon, is different: pixels have to be interpolated and the edges need filling. That always costs a little sharpness.
Frequently asked questions
Does my image leave my device?
No. The file is read and edited by your browser using the Canvas API. Nothing is uploaded, so there is no queue and no copy on a server.
Will rotating reduce the quality?
No. Quarter-turns rearrange existing pixels without resampling them, so the result is pixel-for-pixel identical to the original, just reoriented.
Why does my photo look sideways only in some apps?
The camera stored the orientation as an EXIF flag rather than rotating the pixels. Apps that honour the flag show it correctly; the rest do not. Rotating here fixes the pixels themselves.
